Restoration Projects
Maintaining the Land
Managing rangeland often includes restoration projects to mitigate devastation caused by climate disasters, fires, floods, and other events. Erosion control is a type of restoration project that is frequently needed in Southern Arizona. Monsoons with their hard, fast-driving rain often cause erosion. When ground loses topsoil, it becomes an area ripe for invading species of vegetation as well as loss of edible grasses for livestock and habitat for wildlife. As stewards of rangeland, ranchers look for new and better ways to restore natural resources.
